On October 21, 2021, Doris H. Pahr (nee Anderson), retired nurse, beloved wife of Robert W. Pahr Jr. and loving mother to Robert III (Deborah), Penny Keenan (Matthew), Gary (Mary), Patrick (Robin), and Cheryl Bunk (the late James), passed away peacefully after a short bout with aspiration pneumonia. She was 93 years old. Doris attended the former St. Brigid’s elementary school in Canton, the original Notre Dame of Maryland (preparatory school) on Charles Street and earned her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital. During her nursing career, she initially worked as an operating room nurse at Sinai Hospital in Northwest Baltimore and later at St. Joseph’s hospital in Towson. When her 5 children attended the John Carroll School in Bel Air, she was a devoted volunteer for many of the school’s athletic and weekend functions. After her 5 children were grown, she and her husband went on a few exotic cruises and visited several countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America including Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, Egypt, and Brazil. Up until her last few years, she was active with her Knights of Columbus ladies’ group, the Daughters of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton (DOSEAS) and with her home parish, St. Ursula Church in Parkville. She is survived by 3 younger siblings (Joseph Anderson, Barbara Lee Przybylski, and Susan Manning), her 99-year-old husband (Bob), 5 children, 12 grandchildren (Adam, Kenny, Megan, Timothy, Scott, Ryan, Julie, William, Rachel, Martin, Christopher, and Austin), 12 great grandchildren (Savannah, Brian, Daniel, Chloe, Carly, Aubrey, Caleb, Everly, Cody, Kelsey, Christian, and Kinsley), and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 26th from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM at the family owned Marzullo Funeral Chapel on Harford Road. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 27th at 11AM at St. Ursula Church in Parkville. Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium.
