Doris Mary Stanley, age 96. She passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2021 due to a ruptured colon. She was born on October 2, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland to Ester and Dewey McCleod. She met and married her love Everette Ray Stanley. They were happily married in 1947 for 64 years before he preceded her in death in 2011.
Doris made everyone she met a friend, and I never met a person who didn't like her. She was a very funny person and would tell jokes and make people laugh every day. She just made you feel good about living. She loved being there for her family and travelling. Cruises were her favorite trips because she loved to dance and have fun with her friends and family. She also couldn't wait to take a trip to the beach like Ocean City . Lounging on the beach and running in the waves delighted her whenever she went. She absolutely loved eating the fresh caught fish that my dad fried up in a pan. Always the first mate as the fisherman's wife.
She worked at Hunt Valley for many years and enjoyed being a part of the hospitality industry and again making others laugh. She enjoyed interacting with the clients she served. Her life was a living example of one of her favorite bible verses,
Doris is survived by her son Michael Stanley, her daughter, Sharon MacDonnell (partner Paul Woods); her four grandchildren, Chad, Eric, Andrew, and Ian. Her youngest grandson, Ryan, preceded her in death. Also, her three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Travis and Paige. All those she loved and touched deeply. She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
Please join us in celebrating her beautiful life on Thursday April, 22nd 2021 for a viewing between the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at Marzullo Funeral Chapel at 6009 Harford Road, Baltimore, 21214.
