Joann Scott

Joann Squirrel Scott born September 30, 1957, daughter of the late Sylvia Ann Hunter and George Albert Squirrel, was called home on Monday, August 1, 2022. She was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Edmondson High School. Throughout her life she was engaged in many hobbies and activities. In her younger days while traveling to Brune St to see a friend, whom ironically was the daughter of, she met a man who would later become the love of her life. They was married on September 30, 2000. She would always sit on the porch and say “Hey Mr. Tyrone”. Joann attended computer school while working for the Red Cross. She received her license to become a professional tax preparer. After obtaining her certification, she worked for Jackson Hewitt. She received several recommendations and awards throughout her career there. You could call her the panic. She was always cool, calm and collective. There were a couple of things that you could not separate Joann from; crabs, her computer, Facebook, and getting on her husband Tyrone’s nerves. She also loved to take pictures, you could call her “the selfie queen”. In her spare time, she also loved to travel, loved playing the lottery, and playing card games. Joann also loved to spoil her grandkids and spend time with them. Joann had several friends that she formed great relationships with. A few of their bonds became inseparable, Evette, Edie, and Marian. She leaves to mourn her husband Tyrone, whom she shared many years and special memories with. Her two children Jerell, Antonio and his wife Kim, four step-children Alvina, Tony, Etha, and Nicole. Eight grandkids, Boota, Marcus, Janiya, Jayla, Janiya, Maurice, Jaylen, and Jayden. Two sisters, Lavern and Penny. She will join her mother Sylvia, three brothers Papoose, Gerald, Gordon, and her sister Michelle. Joann will also leave to cherish her memory a host of family and friends.

Visitation/Viewing for Joann Scott will be held on August 19th, 2022 at Marzullo Funeral Chapel located at 6009 Harford Road Baltimore, MD 21214. Viewing times will be from 12-2 PM and 4-6 PM. Service will follow at 6:00 PM.
